Junior Diploma of Learning
The Junior Diploma of Learning is designed to increase motivation at Years 9 and 10 as well as prepare students with the knowledge, skills and work habits required for study at senior level. To achieve the Junior Diploma, students must earn 2/3 of credits available. More able students are encouraged to achieve the Diploma with Merit or Excellence.
All subjects contribute credits towards the Junior Diploma of Learning. The curriculum is structured to give students a broad based education with a wide range of experiences and opportunities at Years 9 and 10. The New Zealand Curriculum document requires the development of the key competencies that young people need to live and work successfully in the 21st century. Students / parents receive reports each term on classroom progress.
All students take the full range of subjects at Year 9 with greater choice in the Arts and Technologies at Year 10.

- English and Languages (including Te Reo, Italian, Japanese)
- Health and Physical Education
- Mathematics and Statistics
- Sciences
- Social Studies
- Technology (including Electronics, Engineering, Fabrics, Food, Wood)
