One Student at a Time :
Providing Academic and Pastoral Support

Our River Group programme is a unique feature of HPC. Students meet daily in small pastoral and academic mentoring groups known as River groups. An adult mentor or River guide is assigned to each River group which ensures that every student has at least one adult in the school who knows them well and takes an active interest in their learning and life at school. A comprehensive programme ensures that students are monitored and mentored throughout their time at college. Students document their learning journey in River logs.

Beyond the River group structure, students have access to a comprehensive guidance and counselling network led by a specialist Guidance Counsellor. Extensive use is made of external agencies for more specialised support. The college offers a free weekly medical clinic as well as free dental health care.
