Outdoor Education
Field trips are offered in an extensive range of subjects to support and make the classroom learning more real and relevant.
In addition, a range of camping experiences are offered to meet the interests and development stage of students at each year level. The year 9 camp in the Kaueranga Valley focuses on working together as a team, appreciating the NZ outdoor heritage, bushcraft, camping and tramping skills.Year 10 provides water based learning experiences including kayaking, sailing and rafting. At Year 12, students are provided with a range of challenging bush and water experiences at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre. In their final year, Year 13 students have the opportunity to attend a Leadership training camp in preparation for the Supporting our Students programme and an adventurous and challenging outdoors experience on Great Barrier Island.
