Senior Graduation

The Hauraki Plains College Senior Graduation Diploma has been introduced to ensure that our school leavers have the life skills, knowledge and values required to be fully prepared for their future lives. Many of these are outside the parameters of classroom learning.

To achieve the Senior Graduation Diploma, students are required to fulfill a number of requirements including:

  • Preparing a CV
  • Taking part in a mock interview for a job
  • Setting and committing to personal learning goals
  • Demonstrating an understanding of personal financial management
  • Formal table manners
  • Completing 10 hours service in our community
  • Understanding of global citizenship

The Senior Graduation Diploma is presented to students at a formal dinner to which parents and teachers are invited. In this way, we are acknowledging that our young people have developed the character, competencies and sense of community to take their place as contributing, responsible citizens.
